According to a published report on MLive.com, Lowell's Connor Kruse has elected to accept an offer to join the Michigan State football team as a preferred walk-on.
Kruse has visited Michigan State many times and clearly wanted to be a Spartan, but the scholarship offer he was hoping for didn't materialize.
When we spoke to him last he told GSN, "really nothing has been going on at all. I've been talking to some colleges but that's about it. They're coming in tomorrow to talk to me. I don't know what's going to happen there, but something could, I don't know. We'll find out tomorrow."
Kruse was expecting an MSU visit to his school which he got. MSU expressed interest in having him be a part of the program but didn't offer a scholarship.
Kruse said at the time that despite the lack of offers, he's sure he was going to end up somewhere where he'll play college football. "There's a lot of time between now and February 3rd rolls around so I'm not worried about it."
But now, with National Signing Day just two days away, Kruse elected to take the offer to be a preferred walk-on and get into MSU program with the hopes of earning a scholarship as quickly as possible.
