Scouting Report: Is a tall kid with a good arm and can make all the throws. Shows nice touch on deep balls and enough zip to get the ball to receivers on outs and other stick throws. Throws well on the run and shows good ability on play action. Tends to hold the ball a little low on drop back and needs to develop some consistency and learn to make quicker reads. He has the tools but has to refine his game technically. - Allen Trieu

Scouting Report: Has a great feel for the game and instincts for the position. Finds the ball and is a sure tackler. Has a knack for making plays and is solid in coverage. Is able to take plays head on at his high school level, but will need to add size and strength to do the same in the Big Ten. Max is also a high character, motivated, hard working kid.

Southfield Christian (MI)
Rating:
Pos Rank: 76
Committed to: MICHIGAN STATE
Commit Date: 6/19/09
Committed Over: Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, Northwestern, Toledo
Scouting Report: Calero is a player who stands out on tape because of the speed at which he plays the game. He flies around and makes plays and shows great closing ability. He is a good blitzer and should make for a great edge rusher in college. His size and the fact that he has played out of a two-point stance for much of his high school career means he will need to take time to bulk up into a true defensive end. - Allen Trieu
WR | 5-11 / 165
Twiggs County (GA)

Scouting Report: Good overall athlete who is still learning the position. Has nice feet and shows good quickness along with flashing ability to get into the second level. Is still a work in progress who needs technical and weight room work, but has good upside and tools. - Allen Trieu
S | 6-3 / 195
Hubbard (OH)
Rating:
Pos Rank: 69
Committed to: MICHIGAN STATE
Commit Date: 10/5/09
Committed Over: Boston College, Cincinnati, Indiana, Michigan, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Syracuse
Scouting Report: Is a sure tackler and a tough kid with good size. Takes good angles to the ball and comes in under control. Has experience playing man to man coverage and could play over the slot or cover backs and tight ends. Does not have elite speed, but is an above average athlete and a heady football player. - Allen Trieu
DE | 6-7 / 250
Southeastern (MI)
Rating:
Pos Rank: 4
Committed to: MICHIGAN STATE
Commit Date: 6/16/09
Committed Over: Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, USC
Scouting Report: Has an exceptional frame and athleticism to go along with it. Runs very well and shows a great motor as he pursues from sideline to sideline. Is great in space and has good feet and change of direction. Has played mostly off the line as a linebacker, so he will have to learn to play with his hand down in college. Pass rushing has consisted mostly of blitzes and will have to learn pass rush moves and improve at disengaging from blockers. - A.Trieu
Mylan Hicks
CB | 5-11 / 179
Renaissance (MI)
Rating:
Pos Rank: 10
Committed to: MICHIGAN STATE
Commit Date: 6/15/09
Committed Over: Iowa, Miami (Fl), Michigan, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Wisconsin
Scouting Report: Has very quick feet and loose hips. He can turn and run with receivers and shows good straight line speed. He is aggressive and can play up on receivers. He does a nice job of redirecting their routes. He plays the ball well in the air, but bats away some passes he should intercept. However, he does position himself well in jump ball situations. Does some chasing and will need to refine his technique. - Allen Trieu
RB | 5-7 / 185
Chelsea (MI)
Rating:
Pos Rank: 41
Committed to: MICHIGAN STATE
Commit Date: 6/30/09
Committed Over: Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Michigan, Notre Dame, Stanford, Toledo
Scouting Report: Fantastic natural runner with great instincts and feel for the game. Has good vision, finds creases and hits them with a good burst. Has solid speed and elusiveness in the open field. Lacks great size, but runs with toughness and determination. Average route runner and pass catcher.
OG | 6-4 / 250
St. Francis DeSales (OH)
Rating:
Pos Rank: 59
Committed to: MICHIGAN STATE
Commit Date: 7/10/09
Committed Over: Cincinnati, Iowa, Minnesota, Northwestern, Stanford, Wisconsin
Scouting Report: Jackson does a great job of keeping the pad level low and hands in the proper area. Has the ability to drive the defender off the line of scrimmage. Excels as a run blocker using quickness, balance and strength to control defenders. Has great ability to pull and lead a block downfield. Has great lateral movement and maintains contact finishing blocks. Could use some work on having a strong punch and to do more work on mirror drills. - Dave Berk
RB | 6-0 / 185
John Glenn (MI)
Rating:
Pos Rank: 73
Committed to: MICHIGAN STATE
Commit Date: 1/3/10
Committed Over: Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Colorado, Eastern Michigan, Illinois State, Michigan
Scouting Report: Is a taller, upright back and a slasher. Does a nice job of finding creases and gets into the open field where he has good speed and elusiveness. His build and running style makes it tough for him to break a ton of tackles and he ends up being more of a finesse, in-space player than a grind it out feature back type. He does have the ability to project to other positions such as defensive back and wide receiver.
S | 5-11 / 186
Ben Davis (IN)
Rating:
Scout300: 210
Pos Rank: 20
Committed to: MICHIGAN STATE
Commit Date: 7/30/09
Committed Over: Central Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Minnesota, Purdue
Scouting Report: Has great instincts and a feel for the game that allows him to always be around the ball. His forte is run support. He reads and diagnoses plays well and closes quickly. Despite not being particularly big, he is a strong hitter and a sure tackler. In coverage, he can play man to man or roam. He has excellent timing as a blitzer. Needs to get bigger and stronger. Is also not a pure burner with great makeup speed.
Tony Lippett
WR | 6-3 / 180
Crockett Vocational Tech (MI)
Rating:
Pos Rank: 62
Committed to: MICHIGAN STATE
Commit Date: 5/7/09
Committed Over: Central Michigan, Michigan, Northwestern, Pittsburgh, Toledo, Western Michigan
Scouting Report: Is an exceptional athlete with great ball skills and route running skills, especially considering he has been a quarterback for his high school career. Has good height but is skinny and lacks great strength. Has decent speed, but is not a true blazer. However, he is elusive and does well in the open field.
Keith Mumphery
WR | 6-1 / 197
Dooly County (GA)
Rating:
Pos Rank: 116
Committed to: MICHIGAN STATE
Commit Date: 10/5/09
Committed Over: Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Vanderbilt
Scouting Report: Has decent height and a nice, stocky build. His strength is evident in the open field as he is able to break a lot of arm tackles. In terms of the receiver position, he exhibits good ball skills, as he is able to go up and catch the ball in traffic. Good speed, but not super fast or elusive in the open field. More of a straight line guy.

Moeller (OH)
Rating:
Pos Rank: 60
Committed to: MICHIGAN STATE
Commit Date: 8/1/09
Committed Over: Boston College, Cincinnati, Michigan, Nebraska, Virginia, Wisconsin
Scouting Report: For the most part Marcus Rush lines up as a defensive end at the high school level. In college Rush would be a great player in the 3-4 as he's got the size to be an outside linebacker or defensive end. Tough, with the ability to play fast, Marcus Rush is one of Ohio's top prospects in the Class of 2010. - Dave Berk

Scouting Report: Big, physical player who should have a chance to play early in his college career. Strong run blocker, needs work in pass-pro but overall has great feet and shows the ability to continue to improve on technique. Plays hard and with a nasty streak. Justin Wilson
OLB | 6-0 / 217
Western (FL)
Rating:
Pos Rank: 72
Committed to: MICHIGAN STATE
Commit Date: 1/16/10
Committed Over: Missouri, Purdue, South Florida, TCU, Toledo, Tulsa, West Virginia
Scouting Report: Wilson is one of the more physically imposing LBs in the state. He looks to inflict punishment on ball carries and really on anyone who gets in his way. He showed his athleticism running the ball on offense where he was a load to bring down. Wilson will freelance some on defense and moves better going forward and backward. He has the overall skill set to be an outstanding LB at the next level. -Geoff Vogt
