Michigan State has an opportunity to land a solid safety prospect when Warren (OH) Harding prospect Mike Dorsey makes a final decision whether or not to flip his commitment from West Virginia to Michigan State.

Dorsey committed to the Mountaineers early in the recruiting process, but began looking around early last month. He visited Michigan State and raved about how great a time he had on his visit.

He is taking his last visit to West Virginia this weekend and the Mountaineers will pull out all the stops in an effort to hold on to one of their top recruits.

The Mountaineers have 17 commitments, but three including Dorsey's are soft, as committed players have taken official visits to other schools. Even Latwan Anderson - who committed on national television at the US Army All-American bowl - is considered a soft verbal since he said he may take some other visits.

Recently, two Mountaineer commitments, Travis Bell, also a safety and Fred Pickett switched their commitments from WVU to Marshall.

Meanwhile, Michigan State has 18 commitments including two from safety prospects Kurtis Drummond of Hubbard, Ohio and Isaiah Lewis, a four-star commit from Indianapolis, IN. But with five players from the playing group lost to graduation, and another to dismissal from the program, the Spartans need more players like Dorsey.

GSN expects this one to wrap up after this weekend's visit and an annoucement could come early next week.

Meanwhile, watch video of Dorsey below making an impact at the high school level.
