Indications are that MSU is beginning to play "rough and tumble" now that the recruiting season is coming to a close. MSU has reportedly spoken to two Pitt recruits who have decommitted in recent days. Warren, OH defensive back Mike Phillips visited State over the weekend, but there is no word on whether he verballed to MSU. H.B. Blades of Plantation, FL , son of former Detroit Lions safety Bennie Blades, also decommited from Pitt and MSU is reportedly trying to recruit him also.

State is reportedly very close to its 10th verbal which would come from Citra North Marion,(FL) HS wide receiver Jermaine Thomas. The 6' 2" 200 wideout runs a blazing 4.35 40 yard dash. He is also rated as one of the top defensive back in Central Florida. MSU has jump to the top of this players list because Florida seems to be out of scholarships. He will visit UF this weekend and if he doesn't get and offer State will try to seal the deal by beating out Louisville, Iowa State and Southern Mississippi.
