Four Top Midwest Talents Get Spartan Offers

Spartans on the prowl for top talent to join the fold in East Lansing. But tough competitors also in on the talented foursome. How will MSU fare and who are these young prep stars. Find out inside.

DETROIT - Michigan State has extended at least three more scholarship offers over the past few days GoSpartans.net has learned.

5-foot-11, 175-pound corner Terrence Talbot and his brother Terry of Huber Heights (OH) Wayne HS both received offers from Michigan State last week according to Dave Berk of Scout.com.

6-foot-5, 210-pound tight end Alex Welch of Cincinnati Elder also grabbed an MSU offer over the past few days. Welch has offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Florida State, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Lousiville, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina, North Carolina St, Northwestern, Purdue, Stanford, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest and Wisconsin.

Athlete Michael Thornton, 6-foot-2, 280-lbs, of Stone Mountain, GA also was among those receiving an offer from the Spartans this week. Thornton. He has offers from Auburn, Miami, North Carolina State and South Carolina.

Thornton plans to camp at MSU to get a better look at the campus, the atmosphere and to get to know the coaching staff a little better.
