Durrell Summers poured in a career high 26 points on 6-of-9 shooting from three point range to lead Michigan State to a come from behind win over Ohio State. The win keeps Michigan State in sole possession of first place in a tight Big Ten race.

Michigan State shook off a sluggish first half and roared back to put away the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Surprise starter Durrell Summers poured in 26 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the three point line.

Kalin Lucas, coming off the bench in relief of another surprise starter Korie Lucious, added 20 and Goran Suton chipped in with 13 for the victorious Spartans who ran their record to 16-3, 5-1 in the conference.

The 6-foot-4, sophomore Summers was the story in this one. With Chris Allen still struggling from the field (1-of-4 from field, 0-3 from three point range), Summers picked up the slack in a major way.

Summers was 8-of-13 from the field in posting a career high in scoring. His previous best output had been 14 points in the MSU road win over Texas.

MSU trailed at one point by as much as 13 points before Summers went to work. A Summers three point shot jumper started an MSU rally as he scored eight points in State's 12-2 run and just as Ohio State appeared ready to take a eight point lead into the half, Summers canned a three pointer to cut the lead to five.

The Spartans cut the OSU lead to one when Goran Suton and Delvon Roe cut through the Buckeye defense for layups. MSU finally took the lead when Summers nailed a three pointer with 13:59 remaining.

The two teams exchanged the lead until Suton's jumper put MSU up for good. The Spartans extended the lead out to twelve, before settling for a solid eleven point win.

Evan Turner led the Buckeyes with 19 points, Jon Diebler and freshman center B.J. Mullens both put up 12 points for Ohio State (13-5).

The win leaves the Spartans a half game ahead of second place Illinois. State stays on the road, heading to Iowa City where they will take on the Hawkeyes on Thursday, opening act at 7:00pm.
