Spartans after One of Ohio's Finest

D.J. Hunter

Beating out dozens of other D1 programs and snatching a prize from the Buckeyes' backyard would be a major coup for Mark Dantonio and staff. How serious is D.J. Hunter about moving north for a few years? When will he decide?

D.J. Hunter is the kind of football player fans love to root for.

"I'll come up and lay the wood," he says. "I won't give them little ankle bites — I'll come up and put some helmet on you," (repeating for emphasis,) "I will put the helmet on you."

The 6-foot-0, 190-pound super-speedster from Middletown is one of Ohio's finest. Michigan State is one of dozens of programs interested in the corner/safety prospect, but he says he'll choose from a small handful when the time is right.
