EAST LANSING - Senior tight end Kellen Davis was among the most excited players after Michigan State's win over Penn State, because he knew the win meant that Michigan State would go bowling for the first time since the 2003 Alamo Bowl under John L. Smith.

Davis said he was going to dedicate himself to getting ready for the Spartans bowl bid and didn't care where the Spartans ended up playing, he's just happy to go out on a winning note.

Davis gave credit to Coach Mark Dantonio and his staff for guiding the Spartans to the bowl appearance in his first season.
