WESTLAND, MI - John Glenn athlete Keshawn Martin becomes the latest member of the Michigan State University football family with his commitment yesterday to the Green-and-White.
Martin, a 5-foot-11, 180-pound wide receiver/quarterback, will get a shot at becoming the Spartans primary returner as he has shown the ability to be a difference maker when he gets the football in his hands.
In their 24-20 loss to state semifinalst Livonia Franklin, Martin showed what he could do, carrying the ball 20 times for 244 yards and a 30-yard interception return.
The speedy (4.38-40yd) playmaker turned down a scholarship offer from Illinois, who also took note of his speed, and open field skills. Martin is a two-sport star and excels on the hardwoods as the starting point guard for John Glenn's basketball team.
GSN will have more from the standout athlete in the days to come.
