The four-star standout says that being part of the Michigan State family was very important to him.
"I've been to many places, I've been to all the schools that offered me but the (MSU) camp, yesterday, was the last thing I did. I just came to the decision that this is where I wanted to be," said Hoover.
Measuring in at 6-foot-7 1/2 and 245-pounds, the big defesive end recorded 87 tackles including eight for loss. One of the biggest factors in his decision to wear Green-and White were the kinds of players that coach Mark Dantonio is recruiting to Michigan State.
"All those coaches are great, they're really great quality people and they're recruiting kids who are not just with ability but have great character as well. That was one of the most important things to me."
Hoover talked about what the decision meant to his family. "They're elated. They love the (coaches), they're family to them. The (coaching staff are) quality people, they're not trying to force you to do anything, they allowed me to make the decision from my heart," he said.
