BEVERLY HILLS, MI - Things could have been worse for Orchard Lake St. Mary star point guard Kalin Lucas.
Participating in the Jordan Classic All-Star game, Lucas suffered a broken right ankle.
While suffering a broken ankle is surely a setback in his young career, it could have been worse. Lucas is expected to make a full recovery and be back in time for his freshman season according to doctors who have dealt with this type of injury.
Thankfully, the Michigan State commit did not tear any ligaments in the ankle and the injury appears to be a clean break of the tibia or less weight-bearing bone.
He told the Lansing State Journal "It's tough, but at least I won't have to have surgery."
His ankle was fitted for a cast and he is expected to be fully healed in time for MSU's fall practice.
