Lerg named CCHA Player of Month

EAST LANSING - Michigan State goaltender Jeff Lerg was named CCHA Player of the Month after leading the Spartans to the National Championship last month.

Lerg posted a .919 save percentage during the period and a 2.24 goals against average. His stellar performance in net against the heavily favored Boston College Eagles helped to lead the Spartans to the National Championship.

Lerg is expected to be among a strong contingent returning for MSU in 2007-08 and MSU is expected to be among the top ranked teams in the nation.
