DETROIT - It must be bitter sweet for Michigan State Tom Izzo after learning his Spartans were granted another appearance in the NCAA tournament, but must face old friend Tom Crean and the Marquette Golden Eagles in East Region in Winston Salem, NC on Thursday.
The Eagles lost in the quarterfinal round to Pittsburgh ending their regular season compiling a 24-9 record.
Marquette is led into the NCAA tournament by sophomore Dominic James who was named to the all-District 5 an averaged 14.9 points per game. His counterpart, MSU leading scorer Drew Neitzel was named to the same team and also named first team all-Big Ten.
