Chicago Mt. Carmel's Arthur Ray is so happy to be a part of the Michigan State family and is looking forward to enrolling in East Lansing. Coach Mark Dantonio is very excited to have the Midwest top-100 lineman in the fold and it looks as if Ray will become the centerpiece of the Michigan State offensive line in the future, barring injury. "Arthur Ray [from] Chicago Mount Carmel, another Catholic school is an excellent student. He comes from a family that has huge size on both sides, 6'8" and 6'11" on both sides of his family. "I found something out in recruiting the other day. They said if you don't shave, you're going to continue to grow, so I was looking for the whiskers, he had no whiskers," joked the coach, "so he'll be a guy that will get bigger."
Ray projects to the featured left tackle Coach Dantonio explained how Ray happened to come to Michigan State. "He's a guy that committed to [Boston College] early on [at] left tackle, but then they had the coaching change and he reopened the process. Describing the kind of player he has in Ray, Dantonio used some interesting adjectives. "Explosive, powerful, very well coached, plays for (Mt. Carmel head coach) Frank Lenti over there and (offensive line coach) Dan Roushar recruited him."
MSU fans have a gem in Ray and can look forward to having him on the offensive line springing holes for Spartans running backs in the future.
