MUSKEGON, MI - Michigan's top high school player, Muskegon's Ronald Johnson announced today that he is headed to the University of Southern California.Ronald Johnson, the state's top high school player, on his school of choice.
Johnson has narrowed his choice down to five schools, Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida and Southern California but made his announcement for the Trojans at 4:08pm this afternoon.
Muskegon assistant coach Tracey Lewis, in comments to GoBlueWolverine.com reporter Sam Webb, had intimated that Johnson had eliminated the Wolverines but yesterday head coach Tony Aneese, voted the Michigan high school coach of the year, refuted that claim and said the Wolverines remain in the chase.
Johnson is set to announce momentarily at the end of church services and GSN is standing by with correspondent Paul Billings of radio station WUVS 103.7 the beat in Muskegon to give you the announcement.
Billings is a close friend of the Johnson family and had USC head coach Pete Carroll at his station for two hours answering questions about his program following a home visit with Johnson.
Stay tuned.
