While many Spartan fans are talking about who may visit for the Spartan’s Junior Day, it’s the visit of Cedric Everson this weekend that will have Spartan fans hoping for another commitment from a Scout.com 4-Star player.
GoSpartans.net has confirmed that Everson has in fact committed to Michigan State and new head coach Mark Dantonio.
Everson, who had made an early commitment to Georgia Tech, made the choice in mid December to change that commitment and reopen his recruiting. Two programs he’s been looking at since that time have been Cincinnati and Michigan State. With signing day just days away talk centered on Everson making a visit to Cincinnati, but at the last moment something swayed his decision and sources have told GoSpartans.net he’ll visit East Lansing this weekend.
While light of weight, Everson has great closing speed and the ability to change directions on a dime. He’s got great flexibility and the type of body control to be a shut-down corner at the college level. The other upside for Everson is the ability to make things happen when the ball is placed in his hands.
Everson, a four-star recruit, becomes one of the top recruits of coach Mark Dantonio's class this season, but another could be on the horizon with the imminent decision of Muskegon standout Ronald Johnson.
