Cincinnati Moeller (OH) running back Greg Jones has decided to play his collegiate football at Michigan State University.
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound running back linebacker had pledged to Minnesota but told me just two weeks ago that he was stunned by the sudden dismissal of then head coach Glen Mason following Minnesota bowl loss.
Jones said even while he was committing to Minnesota, he had good feelings about Michigan State.
"They were my second choice (at the time) but I was sold on Coach Mason and Minnesota at the time so I really didn't give them as fair of a chance as I would have liked. I plan on going up there and looking at the campus and seeing it for myself this time."
He did and then gave Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio is verbal committment on Wednesday. Jones also considered the University of Cincinnati but the combination of the outstanding coaching staff and the picturesque MSU campus was too much to turn down.
