EAST LANSING - Flint Carmen-Ainsworth defensive back Otis Wiley has made a metoric rise up the depth chart for Michigan State and is penciled in as the starting free safety for the Spartans this fall.

Wiley played as a nickle back against certain passing-oriented teams last season, but with the move of senior Greg Cooper to corner, the way was paved for someone to move into the starting lineup. While bandit SirDarean Adams got the first look, Wiley quickly impressed the coaching staff with his headiness, ball instincts and playmaking ability.

He is expected to team with incoming junior college transfer Nehemiah Warrick as the starting safety tandem for State this fall.

GSN caught up with Wiley for an extended conversation following Spring football.
