(EAST LANSING) - Michigan State tackle Sean Poole was named Big Ten offensive player of the week becoming only the second offensive lineman ever to win the award with former Ohio State and Minnesota Vikings star, the late Korey Stringer.
"Sean Poole represents our entire offensive line in accepting this award," Coach John L. Smith said of Poole. "Sean stepped up and played the best game of his career against the Big Ten's best defensive lineman Erasmus James. It's a performance that he'll remember for the rest of his life."
The 6-foot-7, 290-pound senior graded out a season-best 98 percent overall, including four pancake blocks, against Wisconsin's Erasmus James, a finalist for the Lombardi Award as the nation's best defensive end. James was credited with just three tackles.
Poole was graded with perfect scores in assignments and effort (100 percent each) while grading 95 percent in technique.
