Spartans excited to make "life moments"

MSU players sound off on what they are looking forward to about time in Los Angeles leading up to the Rose Bowl.

Jeremy Langford knows a thing or two about clutch plays.

Michigan State's junior running back had fourth-quarter touchdowns in four of the Spartans' final five games – including a game-sealing 26-yarder against Ohio State.

So now that the Spartans are in Los Angeles for the Rose Bowl, Langford is looking forward to seeing the clutch player he models himself after.

"I think we are going to a Lakers game and Kobe (Bryant) is my favorite player so I'm excited to be there and watch him," Langford said. "He's clutch, which is somewhat how I play football. I try to end the game good and be trusted with the ball late."

Part of the experience of playing in the Rose Bowl is the opportunity to make memories beyond the game itself, at least that's what Mark Dantonio thinks it an exciting part of the trip for his team.

"They'll see some movie stars and things like that, that's all a part of this," Dantonio said. "We'll try to make life moments for our players, and I think this will be a life moment. So we'll embrace it."

For Langford and junior Tony Lippett, it will be their first time in California.

"I know everybody is always talking about how much fun Cali is and it's a great time," Lippett said. "I just want to experience it for myself and view everything."

Or as Langford said: "This is my first time going to California and I wouldn't like it to be any other way."

The experience won't be contained to the team, though, as many Spartan fans will be making their first trip to Pasadena as well.

Senior Tyler Hoover said sharing the experience with all the Spartans is what he is excited about.

"I'm excited to see all the Spartans there, I can't wait to see all the green and really taking it all in," he said. "It's a moment we will remember for the rest of our lives.

"Just to be a part of such a huge moment for Spartan nation is just an amazing feeling."
