Hedelin commits to Michigan State

JUCO offensive tackle addresses need for Spartans and is the fourth offensive lineman in the class.

Michigan State addressed one of its top recruiting needs Sunday with the commitment of David Hedelin.

The City College of San Francisco offensive tackle provides the Spartans with the junior college tackle they coveted in this class – and was the one their sights were set on.

A source at Michigan State confirmed the commitment Sunday.

Hedelin took his official visit for MSU's game against Indiana on Oct. 12.

"I expected the people to be more arrogant, I think, but they weren't," he said after the visit. "The people were the biggest positive thing about my visit. They were very friendly, the coaches and players, everyone was very, very welcoming."

The 6-foot-5, 285-pound native of Sweden is commitment No. 18 in the 2014 class and is the fourth offensive lineman in the class.
