How MSU commits fared (Week 13)

A pair of MSU commits are headed to play for state titles this weekend.

Jayru Campbell

Campbell and Cass Tech fell to Detroit Catholic Central in the state semifinals 28-0 – the team the Technicians beat for their previous two state titles.

Campbell was 6 of 17 passing for 98 yards in the loss.

Matt Morrissey

Morrissey returned from injury, but Lincolnshire (Ill.) Stevenson lost 15-14 in the state semifinals when Loyola went for two after a touchdown late in the game. Morrissey had 40 receptions for 750 yards and ten touchdowns entering the game. He also had five interceptions.

Enoch Smith Jr.

Mt. Carmel rolled into the state finals with a 34-7 win. Smith was part of a defense that held down a potent Edwardsville offense.

David Beedle

Clarkston ran right over Flint Carman-Ainsworth and into the Division 1 state finals with a 61-26 win. Clarkston will face Detroit Catholic Central in the title game.
