Smith and the undefeated, top-ranked Mt. Carmel team defeated St. Rita 24-3 and kept Iowa State commit Tommy Mister bottled up.
The Chicago Tribune said “Defensive tackles Enoch Smith and Steve Richardson were typically dominant up front.”
Owens did not play due to an ankle injury he suffered last week. West Deptford won 63-8 and improved to 3-0.
