Michigan State landed one of its top defensive end targets Saturday, as Columbus (Ohio) Walnut Ridge's Robert Bowers committed to the Spartans.
Bowers visited with MSU commit Chris Frey Jr. for the first day of fall practice in East Lansing.
His commitment brings the class to 14 members. He is the second defensive lineman and the fourth player from Ohio in the 2014 class.
He picked Michigan State over offers from Louisville, Purdue and Cincinnati, among others.
The 6-foot-5, 210-pound defensive end had 13 sacks and 66 tackles in his junior season.
