Can one of the biggest college football rivalries carry over to the high school ranks with a Border Classic All-Star Game?
That is the hope of the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association and Michigan High School Football Coaches Association as both groups have ironed out final details for the first annual Ohio-Michigan High School Football Border Classic.
Scheduled for a 1 p.m. kickoff on June 14, 2014, at Donnell Stadium in Findlay, Ohio. The match-up will be renewed in 2015 with a game in Michigan at a yet to be determined location.
Both states plan to field 40-man rosters with Ohio scheduled to announce their team on Feb. 8 and Michigan following on Feb. 15.
Ohio has been looking for a game fans from the Buckeye state could gravitate to following the decision to leave the Pennsylvania-Ohio (Big 33) game.
While the 2014 game will be played at Donnell Stadium where the University of Findlay plays its games, hope remains the two sides can get approval from the NCAA to hold future games at Division I facilities in both states.
