Michigan State’s Adreian Payne has decided to stay in school giving the Spartans the much needed depth to compete for another Big Ten title and NCAA run.

Sunday official word was released by Michigan State that junior forward Adreian Payne had decided to skip the NBA draft and return for his senior season.

Payne, a native of Dayton, Ohio could have easily made the decision to leave the Spartans but opted to return giving Tom Izzo two players some felt he would lose.

Last season the 6-foot-10, 240-pound forwards improved his game and many felt his stock in the draft by averaging 10.5 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks while adding a 3-point shot to his game hitting 16 out of 42 from behind the circle.

The decision came just prior to the deadline for underclassmen to enter the draft and makes the Spartans a team to be reckoned with.
