Friday saw another of Mark Dantonio’s top performers make public his decision to forgo his final year at Michigan State as defensive end William Gholston used Twitter to let Spartan fans know his decision.

One day after Mark Dantonio received word from juniors Le’Veon Bell and Dion Sims of their intentions to declare for the NFL Draft, the Michigan State head coach received word junior William Gholston would be following them.

Gholston, a 6-foot-7, 278-pound defensive end out of Detroit (Mich.) Southeastern High School finished the season with 59 total tackles and 4.5 sacks. His 13 tackles for loss led the Spartans defense in a year they continued to make strides as one of college football’s best.

Gholston tweeted the following.

“I love my #SPARTANDAWGS and the entire #SpartanNation. I talked with Coach D and Duzz about my choice to forgo the upcoming season.”

No official announcement was made by Michigan State at this time and more details are sure to be released soon.
