Harris Earns Freshman of the Week

Michigan State freshman guard Gary Harris earned Big Ten honors for his performance during the past week.

Michigan State fans knew they were getting a special player in Fishers (IN) Hamilton Southeastern standout Gary Harris. The freshman guard averaged 18.5 points in a pair of Spartan victories including a 67-64 victory over No. 7 Kansas.

In the Kansas victory Harris scored 18 points on 58 percent shooting then followed that performance up with a 19 point game against Texas Southern where he hit on 70 percent of his shots.
