Specialist Moore Out For 2012

Michigan State announced on Tuesday that long snapper Steve More (Pinconning, MI) will miss the entire 2012 season.

Michigan State loss a possible important piece to their special teams on it was announced on Tuesday that Pinconning, Michigan native Steve Moore would miss the entire 2012 season.

The following is what MSU Athletics said about the loss of Moore.

Michigan State junior snapper Steve Moore will be sidelined for the entire 2012 season after fracturing his C4 vertebra on Saturday. Moore suffered the injury after diving off the back of a boat and landing on a sandbar. He has full use of all extremities, with no loss of sensation. Moore is consulting with doctors regarding probable surgical intervention.

Moore appeared in three games last season as a long snapper earning his first letter. He was the Spartans starting long snapper during the teams 2012 Outback Bowl win over Georgia.

The loss of Moore and transfer of Matt Giampapa (Tennessee) at the beginning of June, means preferred walk-on Taybor Pepper will enter camp with a lot of pressure on his shoulders.
