The following is what MSU Athletics said about the loss of Moore.
Michigan State junior snapper Steve Moore will be sidelined for the entire 2012 season after fracturing his C4 vertebra on Saturday. Moore suffered the injury after diving off the back of a boat and landing on a sandbar. He has full use of all extremities, with no loss of sensation. Moore is consulting with doctors regarding probable surgical intervention.
Moore appeared in three games last season as a long snapper earning his first letter. He was the Spartans starting long snapper during the teams 2012 Outback Bowl win over Georgia.
