As Michigan State fans have become accustomed to the month of October will again be a great test for the Spartans and their success in the Big Ten.
Michigan State’s 2015 and ’16 football schedules took shape on Monday when the The Big Ten office released its conference slates for those years.
The Spartans will open both conference seasons against rival Michigan, hosting the Wolverines on Oct. 3, 2015, and making the trek down to Ann Arbor on Oct. 1, 2016.
The remainder of the 2015 season will find the Spartans on the road Oct. 10 (Iowa), Oct. 17 (Ohio State), Oct. 31 (Nebraska) and at Northwestern on Nov. 21.
Home games included the annual rivalry game against the Wolverines followed by Indiana (Oct. 24), Penn State (Nov. 14) and Minnesota on Nov. 28.
The 2016 season will be just as tough as the Spartans will again open conference play against Michigan (Oct. 1) on the road before hosting Iowa (Oct. 8) and Ohio State (Oct. 15). The Spartans will then travel to Indiana (Oct. 22) before finishing out the month against Nebraska (Oct. 29).
November gives the Spartans an open date on Nov. 5 before they travel to Penn State (Nov. 12) and finish up the home schedule against Northwestern (Nov. 19). The season ends with MSU traveling to Minnesota on Nov. 26.
Both seasons will finds the winners of the Leaders and Legends divisions making the trip to Indianapolis to battle in the Big Ten Championship Game.
