Nix, who appeared in 37 games this past season averaging 8.1 points and 3.8 rebounds for the Big Ten Champions was arrested Monday night. According to the East Lansing 54-B District Court, Nix has been charged with operating a vehicle within the presence of drugs and possession of marijuana.
Izzo released the following statement in regards to Nix’s off court issues.
“Based on the information we have received, Derrick Nix has been suspended indefinitely from our basketball team, and his future with our program is uncertain. He made an irresponsible decision that has put his future with our program in serious jeopardy.”
