Linthicum Earns Tight End Honors

Brian Linthicum played a major role in Michigan State's 37-21 victory over Iowa. For his play, the fifth year senior earned national position honors.

Senior tight end Brian Linthicum enjoyed his best day in a Spartans uniform against Iowa with career highs for receptions (five) and receiving yards (71) in the Spartans’ 37-21 win over the Hawkeyes.

For his play, the St. Louis (MO) native has been selected College Football Performance Awards’ National Tight end of the Week along with Notre Dame’s Tyler Eifert.

How much of an impact did Linthicum have on the outcome of Saturday’s win?

Four of his five receptions resulted in first downs for the Spartans during their 37-21 victory over the Hawkeyes.

Since transferring in from Clemson, Linthicum has played in 35 games with 22 career starts for the Green & White.
