Post game notes from Michigan State's 28-6 victory over Youngstown State.

Post game notes from Michigan State's 28-6 season opening victory over Youngstown State on Friday night.

• Tonight's attendance: 75,910. It marks the largest opening-day home crowd since 1987 vs. USC (77,922).

• With its 28-6 victory over Youngstown State, Michigan State improved to 3-0 all-time against opponents from the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision.

• In its 115-year football history, Michigan State is now 76-36-3 (.674) in season openers, including an 11-2 record (.846) in its last 13 games.

Mark Dantonio is now 6-2 (.750) in career season openers, including a 4-1 record at Michigan State.

• The Spartans are now 94-21 (.817) in home openers, including a 13-game winning streak that began in 1999. MSU has won 15 of its last 16 home openers, with the only setback coming to Colorado State, 23-16, in the 1998 Black Coaches Association Classic.

• Michigan State improved to 6-4 in its 10 prime-time TV appearances in Spartan Stadium. The Spartans are now 3-0 in home openers played under the lights, including a 27-13 win over USC in 1987 and a 27-20 victory over Oregon in 1999.

• Mark Dantonio improved his record to 14-7 (.667) against non-conference opponents, including a 12-1 record in Spartan Stadium. Overall, the Spartans have won 20 of their last 28 non-league games.

B.J. Cunningham produced career highs for receptions (9) and receiving yards (130) as he tied Matt Trannon's record for career receptions with 148 . . . Cunningham also moved into a tie for eighth place on MSU's all-time list with his 14th career TD reception . . . It also marked Cunningham's third career 100-yard receiving game.

Kirk Cousins has now compiled a 17-9 record (.654) in 26 career starts (school record: 21 career victories by Jeff Smoker, 2000-03) . . . Cousins recorded his 16th career 200-yard passing game, completing 18-of-22 throws for 222 yards and one touchdown . . . He completed his first six pass attempts for 114 yards. 

• In the second half, Michigan State limited Youngstown State to six first downs, 38 rushing yards, 43 passing yards and 81 total yards.

• In his first career start, Max Bullough registered 15 tackles, including one for a loss (1 yard) . . . Denicos Allen recorded a career-best nine stops, including 1.5 for losses (4 yards) . . . Johnny Adams matched his career highs for tackles (7) and pass break-ups (2) . . . In his first career start, William Gholston set career highs for tackles (6) and tackles for loss (2 for 4 yards) . . . Darqueze Dennard posted a career-high six tackles . . . Isaiah Lewis' first career interception and 13-yard return helped set up Le'Veon Bell's second rushing touchdown.
