Spartan 66 2011 Ranking #43

The Michigan State Spartans won a share of the Big Ten title in 2010. Last year, SpartanDigest.com looked in-depth at sixty-six Spartans and their importance to the team's success. We look at 66 Spartans as 1966 was the last time MSU won a National Championship. It is now time to look at the #43 ranked Spartan in 2011.

Johnathan Strayhorn

SD 2011 Ranking : #43

Position: Defensive Tackle

Experience : Redshirt Senior

Strengths : Dependable player with solid work ethic.

Weakness : Physical size standing only 6-foot tall.

2010 was a very good season for Strayhorn as he earned a scholarship prior to the start of the season and then went out and got two starts while providing depth along the defensive line.

Overall : Strayhorn is a player who understands his role and has no problem doing what is asked. The past two seasons have seen the Detroit native appear in 26 games. His final season will find him behind Jerel Worthy giving quality reps when needed.

Why They Made The List : Much will be expected out of Strayhorn as a key back-up along the defensive line in his final season and a reason he earned a ranking of 43 out of our Spartan 66.
