With the loss of Mark Dell, Michigan State may have some questions to answer in 2011 at the wide receiver position. However, if spring was any indication of what the future might hold, lookout, the Spartans have some players at the wide receiver position.

With B.J. Cunningham returning Spartan fans should be excited to see how the Ohio native finishes out his Spartans career after pulling down 9 touchdowns on 50 catches a year ago.

While Cunningham is a known player the depth around him has to make Spartan fans excited about the future.

Joining Cunningham will be senior Keith Nichol who should continue making strides at the position since moving from quarterback last season.

Mr. Excitement, Keshawn Martin also returns and Spartan fans have yet to see the best out of the multi talented senior.

While everyone should be excited about the three seniors, it is the youngsters that had Spartan fans excited by the time spring ended.

Does Mark Dantonio look to use Tony Lippett as a two-way player? If so how many chances will the redshirt freshman from Detroit get each game? Lippett showed signs of being one of the best pure receivers on the Spartans roster and could be a game changer.

Add in another strong spring performance by Chris D. Rucker and the continued improvement of Bennie Fowler and Donald Spencer and you can see why the Spartans have depth at the receiver position for the next couple of seasons.

Spring Grade : A+

Future Outlook: With the young players already on the roster and incoming freshman Juwan Caesar expected to be a big time player, the Spartans look like they have some high level depth at the receiver position. If Tony Lippett receives more reps as a wide receiver than a defender, look for some special things to happen. He is still raw, however, his physical skill set is that of a future NFL player.
