Fou Fonoti – Offensive Line
HT: 6-FOOT-5 / WT: 295-POUNDS
With three years left (to play two), offensive lineman Fou Fonoti would be a welcomed addition to the program along the offensive line. Fonoti has the size and the ability to challenge for playing time early and if he can earn a starting job this fall, he would pay even bigger dividends.
Mark Dantonio Says: “Fou Fonoti was an outstanding junior college offensive lineman who is capable of playing either guard or tackle. He should be an immediate contributor. He plays with great feet and great aggressiveness, and is an outstanding technician. He’s very close family friends with former Spartans Domata and Tupe Peko. Fou comes from an outstanding junior college program with great structure.”
Spartan Digest Says: Fonoti is a great pickup at the very end as he is an athletic offensive lineman capable of playing guard or tackle. Natural bender with great strength and explosion who fits in with the Spartans style of line play. While ranked by Scout.com as a 3-star, we may look back in a few years and see just how undervalued he was.
Because of some questions about the health of current offensive linemen, Fonoti is a major prize for the Spartans in the class.
